From 2016 to 2021, he was the head of the animal disease epidemiological surveillance network and the OIE focal point for animal disease notification. He actively participated in the establishment and operationalisation of the One Health platform in Burkina Faso, where he was vice-chair of the thematic commission on surveillance, detection and response.

In addition to these functions, Dr Guigma was in charge of the implementation of training programmes for veterinary agents in field epidemiology (FETP and ISAVET) within the Ministry in charge of animal and fisheries resources in Burkina Faso.
